Description

Technimount System designs and develops mounting solutions that provide first responders and healthcare professionals with a complete system for managing portable medical devices during EMS and critical care transport.

We are looking for a curious, creative, and detail-oriented Mechanical Designer to join our Research and Development (R&D) team. Reporting to the R&D Director, you will be involved in all stages of mechanical product development for medical, prehospital, and military environments—from design to production, including prototyping, testing, and refinement.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

1. MECHANICAL DESIGN

  • Design mechanical equipment adapted to customer needs.

  • Create manufacturing and assembly drawings in accordance with established standards.

  • Actively participate in design reviews for product development.

  • Select appropriate components, materials, and manufacturing processes.

  • Prepare the technical information required for product documentation.

2. PROTOTYPING AND TESTING

  • Contribute to prototype fabrication and mechanical testing.

  • Participate in the development of test plans and analysis of results.

  • Adapt designs based on field observations and team feedback.

  • Estimate manufacturing costs based on selected methods.

3. PRODUCTION AND CONTINUOUS IMPROVEMENT

  • Support the transfer of new products into production.

  • Contribute to the improvement of existing products and the resolution of technical issues.

Required Experience and Qualifications

  • College Diploma (DEC) in Mechanical Engineering or a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering.
  • 0 to 3 years of experience in mechanical design (experience in a medical environment is an asset).
  • Strong proficiency in SolidWorks or equivalent software.
  • Knowledge of manufacturing processes: machining, bending, molding, welding, etc.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Comfortable using hand and power tools (an asset).
  • Excellent ability to collaborate, solve problems, and communicate effectively.
  • Proficiency in both French and English, spoken and written.
